Birch Fifth Graders Launch Science Unit with Creative Challenge

Fifth graders in Ms. Giovino, Ms. Pikowsky, and Mrs. Vernice’s classes at Birch kicked off their science unit by exploring the question, What is a Scientist?

Students brainstormed words to describe scientists, the tools they use, and the different fields they work in—then turned their notecards into a hands-on challenge to build the tallest standing tower!
